It may seem trite to say, but I’ve been creating monthly bullet journal pages for five years, and every new month still excites me.
There’s just something about turning the page to a new calendar, a new set of weekly spreads, and a new bucket list. Truly, it feels like a fresh start.
Today, I’m excited to share my full May 2025 bullet journal setup with you! As usual, this month’s video includes every page I’ve prepped: from my cover to calendar to weekly spreads and a brand-new twist on my feature page.
May’s Cover Had Some Issues
Did you catch my confession in the video about how I didn’t love the original cover I created for May? Here’s the before and after—which one do you like better?

May’s Weekly Spreads
Did you know that I start every morning with a cup of hot tea and my weekly spread? I sit down and spend about 5 minutes filling in the square from the previous day, usually with a short note about how the day went, or a gratitude list, or a quote that stood out to me.
This simple habit has become one of the most impactful practices of my life. Why? Because it allows me to frame my experiences intentionally and choose how I’m going to remember these years of my life.
For instance, I likely will not remember what happened on…say…May seventh a month from now, much less a year or more from now. But I will know what I wrote about it—what I was grateful for, what I was proud of, and what struggles I sought to overcome. And that small record, added to the 364 other squares from the year, accumulates into what is essentially my story.
Friends, I intend to tell a good one.
May’s Feature Spread Gets a Change
Lastly, I’m trying something new this month for the feature spread. Instead of using it to track specific projects and intentions for the month, I’ll be reserving it for reflections at the end of the month.
I’m doing this for two reasons:
I did this in my original journal back in 2020 and really enjoyed it. It was a nice way to recap the month and reflect on what I wanted to carry onward into the next month. I’m looking forward to trying this method again! We’ll see how it goes…
I’ve been slowly transitioning to digital spreads for seasonal projects and love the flexibility of that format for tracking goals. So stay tuned for more chats about what I’m journaling in that format, coming soon.
Journal Prompt for May:
In homage to my floral cover, what parts of your life feel like they’re blooming right now? Where do you sense momentum, color, or quiet growth? Reflect on a few moments this past month that made you feel energized, hopeful, or proud—and write about why they stood out to you.
Let’s Journal Into May Together
I hope these pages spark your creativity and give you some fresh ideas for your own journal setup. I’d love to see how you’re planning for May—share your journal inspiration, spreads, or questions by replying to this email or leaving a comment on the video.
Cheers to the excitement of a new month!
~Steph
