Hello, Journal Friends!

I’m so excited to kick off 2025 with you all! January always feels like a fresh start, and this month’s bullet journal setup is all about setting the stage for an inspiring year ahead. In my latest video, I walk through my ENTIRE January setup, from seasonal cover pages to weekly spreads and all the little details in between.

Note: This reveal video is a bit longer than usual because I filmed every spread—perfect for those of you who love seeing the entire process. And stay tuned, because tomorrow I’ll be sharing a bonus video with a deep dive into my goal-setting feature spread for January. This is where I really set intentions for the month, and I think it’ll be a helpful guide as you create your own goals for 2025!

January 2025 Journal Setup

Here’s a quick look at what you’ll find in this month’s spreads:

January Cover – I’m starting the new year with a cozy, wintry scene that feels reflective and hopeful. I used a seasonal magazine clipping paired with dark washi tape and subtle metallic accents. My “January” title is set in a constellation-style format—simple but with a touch of sparkle!

Intro & Monthly Calendar – These pages are all about setting the vibe for January. The intro spread has my classic “Table of Contents” layout (with a few updates) for noting monthly intentions, a photo of the month, and my top seasonal goals. My calendar page is clean and functional, but with little gold accents and doodles to make it festive.

Weekly Spreads – I spend the most time in my weekly pages, and January is set up to capture thoughts, daily notes, and reflections all month. I’m keeping it simple with coordinated magazine clippings, washi tape “peekaboo windows” for added journaling space, and plenty of room for variety each week.

Feature Spread: January Goals – I’m experimenting with a new technique for tracking goals this month, inspired by my weekly spread style. I’ve used washi tape and magazine clippings to set up a flexible, interactive layout that I can update as I go. I’ll be sharing a full walk-through of this spread (and my goals for January) in tomorrow’s bonus video, so stay tuned!

Make It Your Own: January Journal Ideas

Here are a few ways you can adapt these ideas in your own January journal:

  1. Seasonal Covers – Whether it’s a magazine clipping, a photo you took, or a simple hand-drawn design, try a seasonal cover that captures January’s vibe for you. Use washi tape or metallic markers for easy embellishments.

  2. Peekaboo Windows – Add hidden journaling spaces with “peekaboo windows” using washi tape or stickers. They’re perfect for capturing extra thoughts or memories without cluttering your main layout.

  3. Goal Tracking Spread – If you’re setting monthly intentions, create a dedicated page with flexible boxes or taped-down clippings. You’ll love having a special place to track progress or check in on your goals throughout January.

I can’t wait for you to watch this January reveal and to see how you’ll bring some of these ideas into your own journal this month! Tomorrow, I’ll be sending out a special look at my January goals video, so keep an eye out.

Here’s to a fresh start and an inspiring beginning to 2025!

Cheers to a new year! ~Steph
